Squeak is being supported by the following organizations and individuals:

ESUG, the European Smalltalk Users Group, has supported Squeak and Smalltalk in many ways. Amongst its many contributions is sponsoring the ESUG Innovation Award which has been won several times by Squeak based projects and products.

Viewpoints Research Institute was the key organization behind Squeak and Etoys and as part of their mission have successfully spun both efforts on to large communities of worldwide users and developers.  VPRI was crucial for the relicensing effort of Squeak and Etoys by negotiating the relicensing agreement with Apple and collecting the contributor agreements.

Impara GmbH has developed several products with Squeak, amongst them the award-winning Plopp 3D painting system. Impara led the Squeak 3.8 release and contributed many improvements to Squeak.
